Nearly every paver patio that fails on Long Island fails for the same reason: the base was rushed. Pavers themselves rarely go bad. What goes bad is what is underneath them — an under-excavated, under-compacted base that shifts through a few freeze-and-thaw cycles and leaves you with a wavy patio and lifted edges.
We build the base properly, then set the pavers. It is slower on day one and it is the entire reason the patio still sits flat years later.
A patio should be sized to how the space is actually used. A patio too small for a table and chairs gets abandoned; one that swallows the whole yard leaves nowhere for the kids. We work that out with you before anything is ordered.
Walkways matter more than most people expect. The path from the driveway to the front door is the first thing every visitor experiences, and a straight, level, well-laid walkway changes how the entire house reads from the street.
We also pour concrete and handle masonry, so steps, aprons, and transitions between materials are done by the same crew rather than subbed out.
